As you may have already heard, Mel has decided to handover her steelcaps and fluoro vest (oh …. and a wealth of knowledge) and I’m very excited to take on the role of Director-Ecoedge Environmental. I wish Mel the very best for the future and have no doubt she will succeed and conquer her dreams and beyond.
I have always been passionate about the environment and making sure minimal harm is done to the native world around us. After graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science (Biology) I specialised in mine-site rehabilitation for my post graduate honours degree, from Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Western Australia. I travelled and worked around the world, including America and the United Kingdom. On my return I was employed as a Project Manager for a commercial landscaping company, in Perth.
In 2004 I moved back to the south west, working as an environmental consultant and then at a native nursery where I extended my knowledge of our beautiful local plant species. For the past 8 ½ years I have been working as the Environmental Officer at the Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup. During this time, I have built genuine relationships with my industry peers, associates and government regulators, and look forward to this continuing in the future.
I have no intention of making changes – the capacity, capabilities, team, systems and procedures, and work standards will all remain as you have experienced them. I am very much looking forward to helping you get to where you need to be with your projects and achieving beneficial outcomes.
