Just when we thought the weather here in the southwest was finally cooling down, another week of temps in the mid 30s comes along… We broke a series of records this summer, one of which was the longest stretch of days over 30.C and the highest minimum temps ever recorded. Evidence of the heat and water stress is evident in the bush though you’ll still see plenty of things in flower. Even fragile, delicate plants like Thysanotus, the fringe lily, are still flowering away. It’s hard to know what to expect this coming winter but I think it’s safe to say that everyone’s hoping for a longer season that brings more rain than those of recent years
